Audioslave – Revelations (2006) – 8/10

Posted by: roc06 on: September 4, 2006

While the Chris Cornell-led and RATM member-backed supergroup Audioslave has already released two major albums, they finally seem to create a first brilliant work with the band’s third major label CD. Sure, the self-titled album and the followup Out of Exile were solid, but the first five tracks of this CD blows away any material the band has created before then. “Broken City” and “Somedays” are a bit dull, but the five following tracks, including the finale “Moth” make up that ground. Overall, this is the best record the band has made. I know you heard that sentiment with Out of Exile as well, but this makes Out of Exile look silly by comparison.

Solid Ass Tracks: “Revelations”, “Original Fire”, “One And The Same”, “Moth”, “Sound of a Gun”, “Wide Awake”
